Smart TV Privacy KitFewer home screen ads, less autoplay and less viewing-data tracking. Every major TV brand.
Your TV shows you ads before you pick a show. It may also report what you watch.

Requirements
- Your TV remote (enough for Level 1)
- Android phone with Android 9+ for the phone path only
- A computer only for the optional Level 3
- Ads inside streaming apps are not touched
You press Home and a trailer starts playing. Again.
A banner ad sits on top of the home screen, and somewhere in the settings a feature you never switched on is reporting what is on your screen. That feature is called ACR, and most brands bury its switch under a different name.
The fixes online assume you know what ADB is, or only cover one brand. Smart TV Privacy Kit covers Google TV, Android TV, Fire TV, Samsung, LG, Roku and Vizio in plain English, with an undo step for every change.
What changes
Ten minutes with the remote and the Level 1 page for your TV: autoplay previews off, ad personalization off, and the viewing-data switch your brand offers turned off. Each change is on the undo card, and the 5-minute check catches anything an update turns back on.
Three levels

Most people only need Level 1. It works on all seven systems: Google TV, Android TV, Fire TV, Samsung, LG, Roku, Vizio.
Settings, about 10 minutes

Choose Family on GumroadWho this is for, and who it is not for
For you if
- You want the home screen trailers and the "recommended for you" rows gone, or at least quieter.
- You want your TV to stop reporting what you watch, where the TV lets you switch that off.
- You are nervous about breaking the TV and want an undo step for every change.
- You look after the TVs at your parents' place too and want one guide for every brand.
Not for you if
- You want to remove ads inside Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu or free YouTube. Those come from the app, and this kit does not touch them.
- You want every home screen ad gone on Samsung, Roku or Vizio. There is no switch for that. Level 1 cuts what the menus allow.
- You have a new Fire TV Stick with Vega OS and want a new home screen. Vega OS blocks it, so only Level 1 applies.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I remove all ads from my smart TV with this kit?
No. Ads inside streaming apps stay, and Google says ads on Google TV cannot be fully turned off, only made less personal. Samsung, Roku and Vizio keep ads on their home screens, and LG Channels stays on LG TVs. The kit turns off what the menus allow, and on Google TV, Android TV and Fire OS it shows how to swap in a cleaner home screen.
Which TVs does it cover?
Level 1 has one page each for Google TV, Android TV, Fire TV, Samsung (Tizen), LG (webOS), Roku and Vizio. Brands like Sony, TCL, Hisense and Philips run one of these systems, and the find-your-TV page shows how to tell which. China-market firmware is not covered.
Do I need a computer?
Not for most of it. Level 1 and the Projectivy home screen path use only the TV remote. The phone path needs an Android phone with Android 9 or newer. Only the optional Level 3 needs a computer and an AI coding assistant such as Claude Code or Codex.
Can I undo the changes?
Yes. Level 1 is switches in the normal settings menu, so you turn them back on. The home screen paths switch apps off instead of deleting them, and the undo card covers every path. Changing your TV software may affect its warranty or support, which the license page says up front.
Has the kit been tested on real TVs?
Yes. The steps were tested on real TVs. Menu paths also come from manufacturer support pages and recent reviews, each page lists its sources, and every path was checked in October 2026. Menus differ by model and year, so each page says where to look if a label is different.
Is it a one-time payment?
Yes, $19 once, for one TV. Gumroad also sells a Family edition at $29 with the same files for up to 3 TVs in your household or close family. Kit updates come free through the same download link.
